CTI Recognized as Michigan's SBA 8(a) Graduate of the Year

This prestigious award is presented annually to a small business that has successfully completed the SBA 8(a) Business Development Program with demonstrated staying power, financial performance, innovativeness, response to adversity, contributions to their communities, and advocacy for the advancement of small business.

As part of National Small Business Week, the SBA has been recognizing the special impact made by outstanding American entrepreneurs and small business owners since 1963. “Together with our partners, we honor and celebrate the small business owners who are the backbone of our country’s economy,” said Constance Logan, SBA Michigan District Director.

CTI President, Morgan Subbarayan said “We are so grateful for our tenure in the 8(a) Business Development Program.  We learned so much and want to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone at the Detroit District for their unwavering guidance and support throughout our time in the Program.”  He added “receiving the 8(a) Graduate of the Year award is truly a spectacular honor.”

Michigan Celebrates Small Business was founded by the SBA, the Edward Lowe Foundation, the Michigan Small Business Development Center, the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, the Small Business Association of Michigan, and the Michigan Business Network in a collaborative effort to showcase the economic power of Michigan’s small business.  The awards were presented on May 4, 2017 at the 13th annual Michigan Celebrates Small Business awards event at The Lansing Center in Lansing.
